Scientific Name: Neofelis Nebulosa
Listed as Endangered in: Southeastern and South-Central Asia, Taiwan
The Clouded Leopard lives in tropical rain-forest but also in forests, grassland, and swamps. This species is not related to the leopard or any species of cat. It doesn't purr or roar and can weigh up to forty-five pounds. It has the sharpest and longest teeth of any cat. The Clouded Leopard rests up in trees and they sometimes ambush prey from up there, though usually it's done through stalking. They eat monkeys, deer, wild boars, and other mammals. In captivity, the female will have one to five kits, but little in known of their reproductive behavior in the wild. This species is legally protected in the wild due to only about two hundred and thirty wild Clouded Leopard being left in the wild, while only one hundred are in captivity. They were threatened by hunting for its fur, teeth, and bone and habitat loss.
