The Devil's Hole Pupfish lives in Devils Hole, a natural spring pool, found in a limestone cave. Adults can reach up to an inch long in length. Their diet consts of diatoms, algae, and invertebrates. A male follows the female. The female then lays her eggs at the bottom of the pool. Threats to this species include water loss and erosion. Conservation measures include their habitat being legally protected and collection of the species to live in the Shark Reef Aquarium. Only thirty-six still live in Devils Hole.
