The Margay lives in remote areas of the forests and spends most of its time in trees. The Margay mainly comes out at night but is also active during the day. It can weight between six and nine pounds. It can climb and jump well. Its diet consists of monkeys, lizards, rodents, tree frogs, birds, and fruit. This species prefers to be solitary until mating where the female gives birth to one or two kittens. Threats towards the species are hunting and deforestation. Hunting has decreased due to the species international protection, but illegal hunting still occurs.
